Pipeline examples
Four pipelines set up from start to finish, for Lanternfall, a game by Hollow Oak Games. Each starts from a template, so the steps are already there and you change a few settings.
For each one, open Pipelines, choose New pipeline, and press Use this on the template. Change the settings, then press Make the pipeline. Then try it with Dry run on the pipeline's page, and press Turn on when it looks right.
Clip that to Shorts
Hollow Oak streams Lanternfall on Thursdays. When somebody presses "Clip that", they want a captioned vertical clip and a post, waiting for the morning.
| Step | Setting | Value |
|---|---|---|
| Stream markers | Which markers | "Clip that" |
| Cut a clip | Vertical version | The scene the stream marked, else the middle |
| Captions | On | |
| In the library | Kept as it is made | |
| Write the post | Length | Short |
| Instructions | Always name Lanternfall. | |
| Not too similar | Weighed against | Left empty, so every channel |
| Outbox | What happens to what it makes | Drafts somebody approves and schedules |
| Channels | YouTube, Instagram and TikTok | |
| Which video of a clip | The best made: captioned, then vertical |
Hollow Oak changed two things: they added the Instructions and ticked the Channels. The rest is the template.
Captions come from a transcription, which costs credits. Cut a clip and Write the post both use credits, so Dry run shows an estimate for one clip. The dry run needs a marker to try it on, so press "Clip that" once on a stream first.
After a stream, each run shows Waiting until its clip is cut, because the clip is cut once the recording arrives. Then a draft appears in Posts for each press, and the clip is in the library.
Weekly devlog
Hollow Oak's commits and art land in the brand's activity all week. On Fridays they want one post gathering it up.
| Step | Setting | Value |
|---|---|---|
| Something the team made | Only these kinds | None chosen, so every kind |
| Gather | At least | 3 |
| At most | 12 | |
| When a batch closes | How often Once a week, Day of the week 5, At 15:00, Time zone Europe/Berlin | |
| Write the post | Length | Long |
| Outbox | What happens to what it makes | Drafts somebody approves and schedules |
| Channels | Discord and Facebook Page |
Hollow Oak changed the Time zone, which starts as UTC, and ticked the Channels. Day of the week counts from 0 for Sunday, so 5 is Friday.
Each thing the team makes starts its own run, which waits at Gather showing In progress. When the batch closes, the oldest run carries them all on as one item, and the others finish as left out, with the reason "Gathered into an earlier run."
With fewer than three things, nothing goes on and they roll over to next Friday. A batch that reaches twelve goes on at once. To keep small fixes out, tick only Feature, Content and Art under Only these kinds.
Blog post to teasers
Hollow Oak writes a longer post for the Lanternfall blog each month, and wants a short teaser for it on Bluesky and X.
| Step | Setting | Value |
|---|---|---|
| A blog post went live | Only these categories | news |
| Write the post | Length | Short |
| Add a link | Address | Left empty |
| Not too similar | Weighed against | Left empty, so every channel |
| Outbox | What happens to what it makes | Drafts somebody approves and schedules |
| Channels | Bluesky and X |
Hollow Oak filled in Only these categories, which takes a category as it appears in the address, as in /blog/category/news. Left empty, every post counts.
Address stays empty because a blog post brings its own link, and the post makes it a tracked short link when it is saved, so Links counts the clicks. Address is only used for an item with no link of its own.
Bluesky and X both need a connected account, or they are left out of the post, and the run says so. If a teaser reads too like a recent post, Not too similar leaves it out and says how close it was: "It is 87% like a recent post", with the start of that post.
Steam sale to a post
This one needs a brand linked to a game. Hollow Oak has confirmed a Lanternfall discount in the Steam toolkit, and also wants a post a few days before each Steam festival.
The template has no Add a link step, so the post would carry no store link. Add one: under Write the post, open Add a step after this, taking post text, choose Add a link and press Add.
| Step | Setting | Value |
|---|---|---|
| Steam happenings | Hears of | A discount, A Steam festival, A seasonal sale |
| Days before | 3 | |
| Write the post | Length | Short |
| Add a link | Address | https://example.com/lanternfall |
| Outbox | What happens to what it makes | Drafts somebody approves and schedules |
| Channels | Bluesky, X and Discord |
Hollow Oak added Add a link, changed Days before from 0, and ticked the Channels.
Days before applies to festivals, sales and showcases, and dates still estimated wait until they are announced. A discount has no Days before: its run starts when you confirm it. Address is used when the item has no link of its own, so check the link on each draft: a festival can bring its own.
The post stays a draft, so somebody can check the dates and the price before it goes out.
Going further
Each of these drafts. To have posts proposed at a time instead, set the outbox to Posts proposed at a time, for approval, fill in the Budget and the Timing, and save. That needs an Admin. See The outbox.
