Websites
Websites counts visits to the brand's own websites, without cookies, and feeds them into Numbers. Together with tracked links it closes the gap between a click on a post and a visit to your page.
Open Websites in the sidebar, under Measure. Anyone who can see the brand can see the list and open its analytics. Adding, setting up, renaming and removing sites needs an Editor or above.
Add a website
- Under Add a website, give it a Name. The name is for you and your team.
- Give its Address, such as
https://lanternfall.example.com. You can leave offhttps://, and anything after the host name is dropped, because a website counts every page under it. - Press Add the website.
An address cannot carry a user name or password. A brand can have one website for each host name, so adding one it already has is refused with This brand already has a website at that address.
Set up the counting
A new website shows Not set up. Press Set up analytics on it. The badge changes to Counting, and the card shows a snippet under Load this in every page of the site, inside its head:. Copy it with the button beside it and put it in the head of every page of the site. If you use a website builder, look for its place for custom code in the head.
Counting means the analytics are ready. Visits only appear once the snippet is on the pages and someone loads one.
Set up again checks a site's analytics once more and brings its name up to date, for example after a rename.
If the page says Analytics cannot be reached from here, so websites can be added but not set up., setting up is not possible right now. The sites you add are kept, and you can set them up later. If Set up analytics itself fails with Analytics could not be reached, so nothing changed. Try again in a minute., wait a minute and press it again.
Read the visits
Press Open analytics. It opens in a new tab and signs you in with GreenMind. Everybody who can read the brand's analytics can open it. The page header says how many months visits are kept.
The same visits reach Numbers each day under Websites: Page views, and Website visits broken down by site, page, referrer, and the source, medium and campaign of the link that brought them. A visit that came through a tracked link carries that link's words, which is how a click and a visit line up. See Links.
Today's visits are still counting, so the newest day is drawn dashed in Numbers until the day is over.
Which game a site belongs to
Under each website a line says which linked game environments name it as their site, or that none does. An environment's website address, on its overview in the publishing console, says which website is its site.
Rename or remove
Rename changes the name shown on the page. Remove takes the website off the page and stops it feeding new visits to Numbers. What it counted is kept, and if you add the same address again the site comes back with its history.
If it goes wrong
No visits after setting up, or a site that will not set up, are covered in Number problems.
