Post problems

A post tells you what is wrong, in a banner on its page or under the version that failed. Find the message below. Trying a post again takes the right to publish posts. See Posts.

It will not schedule

Before it schedules, the page checks every version and lists each reason in a banner. Put each right, press Save, and try again. The buttons for sending, approving and scheduling stay off while there are unsaved changes.

  • Choose at least one channel first. Tick a channel under Channels.
  • Choose the account to post from. A network has no account chosen. Tick one of its accounts.
  • The account needs reconnecting. See Connection problems.
  • The text is N characters, and it takes M. Shorten that version's text. A version you wrote by hand is not cut for you. Follow the post's text again refills it, cut to length.
  • There is nothing to post. The version has no text and no pictures.
  • The text cannot hold any of certain characters. YouTube takes no < or >.
  • It takes N pictures at most. Remove some pictures from the post.
  • Its options need looking at. Open the version's options. A missing YouTube title, Reddit subreddit or Blog title is the usual cause. The message names the field.
  • Choose a time that has not passed. Pick a later time.
  • One of its channels is no longer available. Untick it.

It will not save

  • The options of a channel are not valid JSON. The Options (JSON) box holds something that is not JSON. Check the brackets, quotes and commas, as in {"subreddit": "lanternfall", "title": "Patch 1.2 is out"}.
  • This post was changed by someone else while you were editing it. Reload it to see their changes, then make yours again.
  • The links in this post could not be tracked. A channel's source or medium is missing from the brand's list. See Brand settings.
  • A scheduled post is cancelled before it is changed. Press Cancel the schedule, then edit. This works only before any version has started going out. One that has gone out stays as it went.
  • That account is not connected to this brand. The account was disconnected or is not the brand's. Pick another.

A version failed

A failed version shows its reason under it. Some failures are tried again by themselves a few times first, so a version may say Scheduled with a message for a while before it says Failed.

  • This exact text was already posted to this account recently. Change it before posting again. The app will not repeat identical text on one account within a short while. Edit that version's text, then Try again.
  • This post does not fit the channel. Check its text, media and options. A reason follows in brackets, such as the video being too long or too large, or the channel not naming a Page or account to post to. For Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn, add the Page ID under Posting on Connections.
  • The connection has lapsed. Connect it again, then try once more. See Connection problems.
  • The network refused the post. The network's own reason follows. Read it and change the post accordingly.
  • Choose the account to post from before it goes out. The version had no account when its time came. Choose one and schedule again.
  • The worker posting this stopped before the network answered. Check whether it went out before you retry it. Look at the account on the network first. Press Try again only if the post is not there, or it will go out twice.

When a version has failed, Try again on that version starts it again. A post where some versions went out and others failed shows Partly failed. Try again touches only the failed versions.

It waits and does not go

  • The org has no credits. A channel marked Costs credits is charged when it goes out. Without credits the post waits, tried again later, and the version says why. Add credits and it goes. See Credits.
  • A network asked to wait. The post stays Scheduled and goes when the network allows.
  • A pipeline's post is back in review. The version says "Its pipeline may no longer post by itself, so this waits for a person to approve it." Approve and schedule it yourself.
  • It stays on Scheduled or Publishing. A version may be Waiting for a person. See Finishing a post by hand.

It went out, but something is missing

A published version can carry a warning line under it, saying what did not go with it, such as a thumbnail the network refused. The post is out, so it is not tried again. Fix the missing part on the network.

A YouTube video can stay private until your project passes YouTube's audit. See Connect YouTube. TikTok sends a video to the account's inbox until its app is reviewed, and the version says so.

A channel was left out of a draft

A draft made for you by a pipeline or an assistant says Left out of this post: and why. Typical reasons are that the brand has no account on that network, that the channel needs something a draft cannot fill in (a subreddit, a Blog title), or that the account named is not one the brand can post through. Tick the channel yourself and fill in what it needs.

Numbers are missing under How it did

Numbers are taken an hour, a day, a week and a month after a version went out, so recent posts show none yet. A version you finished by hand is counted only once you close it with its address. No numbers given means the network gave none. See Numbers.

I cannot find the post

The list shows the latest changed first. Show lists only In review, Scheduled, Published or Failed posts, so a draft, an approved post or a partly failed one appears under All.
