Planner
The Planner is the one place to plan a brand's marketing. Its top line says what this week holds, and its tabs hold the calendar, the campaigns and plans, the tasks and the ideas. Anything you select opens in a panel beside the page, so you never lose your place.
Open Planner in the Plan group of the sidebar. Everybody on the brand can read it. What you can change depends on your role (see People and roles).
The top of the page
Four counts sit above the tabs. Each one takes you to what it counts:
- Posts going out this week: the scheduled posts in the next seven days. Selecting it opens the calendar's agenda on just those posts.
- Waiting for approval: posts sent for approval and items a pipeline is waiting for you to review. Shown to those who can approve posts.
- Tasks due: your tasks and nobody's that are overdue or due in the next two days, as the brand's Overview counts them.
- Next milestone: the first milestone of the brand's plans that is not done yet. Selecting it opens the milestone.
Beside the title are the things people start most: New post, New task, New campaign and Add a note. The last three open their form in the panel.
The tabs
- Calendar is where the Planner opens. Everything with a date is on it, and you can move most things from it. See Calendar.
- Campaigns lists the brand's plans first, then its campaigns. A campaign opens its own page, with everything given to it. See Campaigns and Plans.
- Tasks is the brand's tasks as a table, with what each is about and where it came from. See Tasks.
- Ideas holds suggestions for what to post and the list of what the team made. See Ideas.
The tab you are on, the calendar's view and day, its filters, and the panel that is open are all part of the page's address. You can bookmark or share any of them, and your browser's Back button steps back through them.
The panel
Selecting a post, a stream, a task, a milestone, a campaign, a pipeline's proposal or a note opens it in a panel: a column on the right of a wide screen, or a sheet from the bottom on a phone. The panel says what the thing belongs to and what belongs to it. A task says what it is about and which plan it came from; a milestone lists the tasks that lead to it; a campaign counts its posts, streams, link clicks and open tasks. Anything with a date has a Move to field in its panel. Close the panel to go back to where you were.
Where the old pages went
The Planner took the place of five pages. Old links still work and land on the same thing here:
- Calendar is the first tab.
- Campaigns and Plans are the Campaigns tab; a plan's page is under the Planner.
- Tasks and Ideas are tabs of their own.
- The intake's keys moved from Ideas to Connections.
